Amanda began Center Beam Studios in 2025, following over a decade of experience in architectural lighting design—including her role as Associate Principal at the renowned Tillotson Design Associates in New York City. Originally from Louisiana, Amanda earned a Bachelor of Interior Design from the LSU College of Art & Design in Baton Rouge before relocating to New York to pursue her passion for lighting at the intersection of art, architecture, and storytelling.
Her career spans a wide range of project types—from residential interiors to corporate campuses—but she is particularly drawn to the precision, drama, and creative collaboration required in exhibition and gallery design. Amanda brings a thoughtful and conservation-aware approach to each project, working closely with curators, designers, and institutions to illuminate objects and spaces with care and intention.
Her exhibition work includes award-winning collaborations with artists and architects such as Es Devlin and Diller Scofidio + Renfro, as well as numerous projects with the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, featuring high-profile artifacts from Chanel and Cartier, among others.
In addition to her museum and cultural work, Amanda enjoys designing residential lighting that reflects the individuality of each space and client—combining warmth, clarity, and elegance in every detail.
Amanda has served as an adjunct professor at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, and remains committed to mentorship, regularly advising students from her alma mater and beyond. Her work blends technical rigor with creative exploration, always with an eye toward honoring both object and audience.
